hello rememeber me last year we talk about helping christmas gift but i tried that but talk about grant money but i am not ineresting in college to apply for it i giving up that doesnt work for me last year i look for a christmas mother etc all that i dont get anything nothing but really i need for my son christmas gift this year but i dont get it last year that really upsets me i was so depresting and so upset i am deaf impearding single mother my son lives with me i need ur help please what should i do i need ur advise it but i dont know how i am not a good read and not understandmate what is says about programs all stuff like that u know i need ur help for my son christmas that he needs it so badly my email is janet1967@comcast.net thanks very much i appreacte that so much for ur support and help me please thanks janet kincaid this is me and my son

hi, believe it or not yeap.  That is the cheapest. I usually shop no name brands.  The store here where I shop is called food basic and sometimes I will go to no frills.  It is where you bag groceries yourself.  Some times there are times I will go without buying meat cause the price is just too high.  I don't buy junk food for that does the body no good.  I live in Ontario but if I lived in Alberta they pay 10.00 for milk.  Food here is the most expensive for me than bills per month.  Worse part is that I find grocery stores make a profit like you would not believe and some farmers make squat.

Hi, just saw the eat cheap the website. That is cheap. Here in Port Colborne Ontario Canada a loaf a bread cost 1.98 and for ketchup its 1.99 for a bottle of the cheap kind. One box a cereal 2.69 Milk cost 4.69 for 4 litre bag. Hotdogs if on sale are 1.99 Thats cheap in states. I spend more for groceries a month than on other bills. Toilet paper here is 1.47 for 8 rolls some other brands are even higher. Even hamburger buns are 1.99 and up. Elke

I'm glad she is already getting intervention - I think starting early is so important.  I've seen huge transformations in kids at school.  Focus on her positive behaviors and her good traits, do what she loves to do and help her be happy.  I'm sure the specialist will suggest all sorts of things, from changing her diet to therapies and supplements.  It's all good, just try it and see what works for her.  None of these kids follows a textbook, so what works for one will have no effect on the other.  You must find the best treatments for Layla.  Yes, it takes a lot of work but you already know what a wonderful little person she is and she is worth it!  There may also be some underlying medical conditions, I'm sure the docs will check everything.  I mean, if she gets headaches she might be banging her head against the wall to try to tell you that, or to try to get some relief from the pain.  Or maybe she can't handle loud noise sos he's trying to drown it out.  Once you find the reason - and fix it if you can - then the behavior makes sense and will probably stop.  Can you redirect her?  If she's hitting her head can you give her a toy hammer and show her how to hit a pillow?  It may not work, but again - it's worth a shot!  My daughter gets all worked up (she is not autistic but she does have some of the behaviors that make me wonder....I've been assured she is not but the strategies work) and wild so her teachers told me to have her hug a giant stuffed animal - it helps her calm down!  She loves her beanbag chair - she can do tumblesaults over it or just roll back and forth.  Many kids just like the cozy feeling of it wrapping around them.  Have your daughter check into weighted blankets and vests.  There are so many things to try - and so much hope!

Yo there Ro, it sounds like you and your family are all doing well. How do you like working nights? I just wanted to let you know that we just found out that my little 3 year old grandbaby Layla does indeed suffer from Autism. We don't know much more than that right now but a Behavioral therapist from Seattle is spending time with her this week. She has gotten so bad that she will just pound her little head against a wall until she bleeds so she has to wear protective head gear now. My daughter is just about to melt down as there is really nothing she can do yet but just sit and hold her down until she comes back from whereever she goes to. Our family has our work cut out for us and we're all in this together so I'm hoping for the best. When our house burnt down in December I thought that was just about the worst thing that could happen to us. Now after learning this news about out little one our house fire seemed like a walk in the park. I'm doing fine though, we will get our Layla through this and we will all come out far better people with more love for one another than any of us thought possible. Of course I will pray for you.  I hope the shot will bring you some relief.  Ar eyou renting the house or do you own it?  If you do lose the house, remember it is only some walls - you get to take the memories with you.  I have a page on avoiding foreclosure.  Have you spoken to your lender or landlord about the situation?  Do you have health insurance?  Are you on disability?  In what state do you live?  Call the dept of housing, maybe they have programs that can help you.  Ask local churches for help, call United Way, Salvation Army and 2-1-1 for help.  Hope you get some assistance!!

I tried Modest Needs two times and the last time I was $72 short to get one time assistance with rent paid so I need to finish data work then work on something else and maybe I can stay employed to collect.

How about getting a roomate to help with expenses??? check your local senior center for anyone looking for a roomate.

And Apply for hud housing and we have Los Angeles housing authority here but I applied to late now it is 5-10 year wait to get assistance with rent...
